Classes are held Monday Evenings from 7:30 to 9:00 PM. This class meets for 6 weeks.
COVID 19 specific information: ALL class attendees must provide current proof of full vaccination (incl. booster) and will be required to bring & wear properly, an N95 rated mask during class.
Attendees will be scanned for temperature upon arrival, and will be expected to remove themselves from attendance if they have an elevated temperature, become ill, or are exposed to Covid 19.
Attendees are welcome to return if they provide
A) a negative test result by a professional antigen (Ag) or PCR/NAAT COVID-19 or SARS-CoV-2 test or
B) by TeleHealth verified antigen (Ag) or PCR/NAAT COVID-19 or SARS-CoV-2 home testing.
There will be no exceptions for deviation from these requirements.

Learn to carve rough stones into beautiful gems called cabochons. This class is fun, easy and relaxing! OGMS instructors will show you how to use our state of the art equipment to create beautiful gemstones that are worthy of setting in jewelry! Most students are able to complete several projects in the course of this six week class.
Adults only, 18 and older please.
Workshop attendees interested in doing dimensional work or carving are encouraged to bring their own rotary equipment and burs, safety equipment and rough stone or slabs.
For persons wishing to purchase opal rough, parcels will be available for purchase from the instructor for $30 per parcel. Please have exact change.
Please wear clothing that can get wet and dirty. Tie back long hair. Wear closed-toe, comfortable and supportive foorwear. NO FLIP FLOPS or open toe shoes. Please do not wear jewelry or clothing that could be caught in machinery.
No walk-ins will be admitted to class.
